Overview: Lawmakers in Virginia have introduced SAN-supported bill (H.B.1378) to repeal the law tying the state to California’s motor vehicle emission standards. Under current law, sales of new gas- and diesel-powered vehicles will be banned starting in 2035. The SAN believes that Virginians, not the government, should decide what vehicles are best for them and their families. The House Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee passed the bill which now awaits consideration on the House floor.
