Overview: Lawmakers in Vermont have introduced SAN-supported legislation (H.73) to repeal the law tying the state to California’s motor vehicle emission standards. Under current law, sales of new gas- and diesel-powered vehicles will be banned starting in 2035. The SAN believes that Vermont residents, not the government, should decide what vehicles are best for them and their families. The bill awaits consideration in the House Environment and Energy Committee.
