Texas Introduces Single Plate Bill

DON’T DELAY!  Please contact lawmakers to request their support for this proposal:

Overview: Texas has introduced SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 1222) to allow the display of only a single, rear-mounted license plate on certain passenger vehicles. Under current law, most vehicles must display two license plates. If passed, an exemption would be provided to Texas’ current requirement for vehicles unable to fasten a front plate “without drilling through the exterior of the vehicle.” The bill is scheduled for a hearing in the House Committee on Transportation on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
