Texas Introduces Single Plate Bill

  • S.B. 805 would protect the aesthetic contours of cars and relieve vehicle owners of the burden of having to create mounting holes on bumpers.
     

Overview: Legislation (S.B. 805) has been introduced in the Texas Senate to require the issuance of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all passenger cars and light trucks. Under current law vehicles must display two license plates. The bill currently awaits consideration in the Senate Transportation Committee.
