Texas Introduces Bills to Protect Power Plant and Fuel Choice

DON’T DELAY!  Please contact lawmakers to request their support for these proposals:

Overview: Texas has introduced SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 2374 / S.B. 1017) to ensure consumer choice of vehicle power plants and fuel by preventing a county or other local government in the state from limiting access to certain types of power sources. Under current law, sales of new gas- and diesel-powered vehicles may be threatened if narrow energy policies are adopted.

The SAN believes that Texas residents, not the government, should decide what vehicles are best for them and their families. While S.B. 1017 is pending in the Senate Business & Commerce Committee, H.B. 2374 is scheduled for a hearing in the House Committee on State Affairs on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
