Rhode Island Bills to Allow Replica Year of Manufacture License Plates Move to Governor

Identical legislation (H.B. 8011/S.B. 2936) to authorize the Division of Motor Vehicles to issue replica year of manufacture plates for antique vehicles was approved by the Rhode Island Senate and House.  Both bills will now be sent to Governor Lincoln Chafee for his signature and enactment into law.

We Urge You to Contact Governor Lincoln Chafee (Contact Info Below) Immediately to Request His Support for H.B. 8011 and S.B. 2936

  • In Rhode Island, an antique motor car is “any motor vehicle which is more than twenty-five (25) years old. Unless fully inspected and meeting inspection requirements, the vehicle may be maintained solely for use in exhibitions, club activities, parades, and other functions of public interest and may not be used primarily for the transportation of passengers or goods over any public highway.”

DON’T DELAY!  Please contact Governor Lincoln Chafee to request his support for H.B. 8011 and S.B. 2936.
