New Jersey Introduces Single Plate Bill

Overview: New Jersey has introduced SAN-supported legislation (A. 5092) to allow the display of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all passenger vehicles. This bill specifies that any person who was issued two license plates prior to the effective date of the bill may return one of those plates to the commission. Under current law vehicles must display two license plates. A. 5092 awaits consideration in the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee.
