New Hampshire Single Plate Bill Dies as Legislature Reconvenes

The New Hampshire legislature failed to pass prior to adjournment SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 260) that would have allowed vehicles registered as antique, custom, or street rod to display only a single rear license plate. The bill died as the legislature reconvened for the current year. Under current law these vehicles must display two license plates. The bill as originally introduced would have allowed all passenger vehicles to display a single plate, but it was amended before passing the House to apply only to these specialty vehicles. The Senate Transportation Committee failed to take up the legislation.

Thank you to everyone who voiced support for this bill.
