  • H.B. 31 changes the definition of “street rod” from vehicles manufactured prior to 1970 to vehicles 25 years old or older to be in line with the same age requirements used for antique motor vehicles.

  • H.B. 31 removes the requirement that a street rod’s tires be covered by a fender, recognizing that historically street rods are often open-wheeled vehicles.

  • H.B. 31 exempts street rods from any equipment requirements that were not a condition of sale when the vehicle was manufactured.

Overview: Legislation (H.B. 31) has been introduced that would ease the process of registering a street rod in Delaware by favorably changing the age and equipment requirements. The bill passed the Delaware legislature and now goes to Governor John Carney for approval.
