H.B. 5100 acknowledges that the use of a hitch, tow ball, or bicycle rack will naturally obstruct the view of a rear license plate.
H.B. 5100 recognizes that these towing modifications are vital functions for many vehicle owners.
Overview: Legislation (H.B. 5100) allows for the attachment of a tow ball, bicycle rack, removable hitch, or any other device designed to carry an object on the rear of a vehicle without violation of the statute that the rear license plate shall not be obstructed. This bill passed out of the Senate Transportation and is currently held in the Senate Committee of the Whole.
