State Legislative Roundup
|
The SEMA State Legislative Update is a comprehensive listing of legislation pertaining to the motor vehicle aftermarket. Bills are arranged alphabetically by state and issue, and chronologically by bill number.
A bill's "Status" is either "Law," meaning it has been signed by the governor; "Dead," meaning it is no longer being considered; or "Active," meaning that it is still being considered by the legislature. The "Location" of a bill indicates which stage of the legislative process the bill was in when the Update was published.
The "Description" section contains a brief summary of each bill. The author(s) and the date the bill was introduced are also included.
"Bill Type" indicates whether the state has a carryover legislative session, and includes the years in which the bill may be considered. For example, a "One year bill" which was not signed into law during the 2003 legislative session may not be considered in the 2004 legislative session without being reintroduced; a "Two year bill from 2002" may be reconsidered in the 2003 legislative session without being reintroduced.
We hope you find this Legislative Update informative. If you have any questions or comments, e-mail san@sema.org.
