  • H.B. 351 recognizes the minimal impact of collectible vehicles on emissions and air quality.
     
  • H.B. 351 acknowledges that collectible vehicles constitute a small portion of the overall vehicle population and are a poor source from which to look for emissions reduction.
     
  • H.B. 351 endorses the fact that collectible vehicles are overwhelmingly well-maintained and infrequently driven.  

Overview:  Legislation (H.B. 351) to exempt rare or historically significant vehicles from emissions control requirements was approved by the Senate Transportation Committee and was sent to the full Senate for a vote by all members.   The bill has already been approved by the House.  Under current law, only vehicles 20 or more years old are exempt.
