BREAKING NEWS: U.S. House of Representatives Passes Bill to Stop California’s ICE Vehicle Ban

DON’T DELAY!  Please contact your U.S. Senators to request they support S. 2090/H.R. 1435:

Overview: The U.S. House of Representatives passed the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act” (H.R. 1435), which now awaits consideration in the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee. This SAN-supported bill seeks to preserve vehicle choice for consumers and prevent the State of California from choosing only one form of technology (such as electric vehicles) over the many others to achieve their emission reduction goals. The “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act” has also been introduced in the Senate (S. 2090), which includes the same text as H.R. 1435

The "Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act" prohibits the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from issuing a waiver to California for regulations that would ban the sale of new motor vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE) in the state by 2035. The bill is essential to stopping California's plan to ban new ICE vehicles, which limits vehicle choice in states around the country. Seventeen states have followed all or part of California’s previous clean-car rules, adopting similar proposals.

Please send a letter to your U.S. Senators asking them to cosponsor S. 2090 and advocate for the Senate EPW Committee to hold a vote on the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act.”
