Maine Lawmakers Seek Legislative Control Over Potential Internal Combustion Engine Ban

DON’T DELAY!  Please request support from lawmakers on this proposal:

Overview: Lawmakers in Maine have introduced SAN-Supported legislation (L.D. 2261) which would reclassify the adoption of California’s internal combustion engine ban as a “Major Substantive Rule” requiring the legislature, not the Board of Environmental Protection, to have the final say before it becomes law. Currently, any citizen, including environmental groups, can trigger the regulatory process with only 150 voters’ signatures.

L.D. 2261 will have a public hearing in the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources on March 20th!
